45 Members and friends of the Tamworth based Peel Society recently enjoyed a visit to Belgium.  This followed up a visit last year when they went to the Battlefield of Waterloo.

On the way to the boat, the group visited the battle of Britain memorial on the cliffs above Folkestone at Capel – le – Ferne.  It is very impressive and moving.

The group then visited Brussels to see the Atomium, the iconic structure built for the 1958 World Fair.  They then went onto Dinant, when they joined a river cruise which took them through the ancient fortress towns of Namur, Mons and Oudenaarde.  They visited Bruges and finally arrived at Ostend.

The whole trip was made in glorious weather.  The next Peel Society event is an end of season luncheon at Middleton Hall on Sunday, October 29th.
