Sir Robert Peel lived through a revolution in communications mainly promoted by the advent of the Iron Horse and rail tracks. He supported the development as the picture from the Illustrated London News shows. This was the ceremony in November 1845 of cutting the turf on the low level railway, the London and North Western Railway, at Tamworth. The development of railways resulted in a much improved postal service.
Members and friends will be welcome.
