"Royal surprise at Middleton Hall"

Visitors to the Peel Society's Victorian Garden Party were surprised to see Queen Victoria and Princess Christine in Middleton Hall gardens!

It was actually Mrs Chris. Moss and her Mother Mrs Gregory, dressed for the occasion!

The event was blessed with beautiful weather.  Visitors enjoyed a variety of attractions, including a Punch and Judy show for the children, skittles, quoits and, of course, the unique Peel Collection.

The picture shows members dressed in contemporary costume.  Left to right Nigel Morris, Vice Chairman, Mrs Chris. Moss, Treasurer, Mrs Janice Morris, Secretary and Mrs Gregory seated.  Many other members also dressed in Victorian costume.
